Julie (Christensen) Langebartels '03, a prominent figure in the field of athletics and education, has been announced as the May 2024 Featured Alumna of Wisconsin Lutheran College. Langebartels, who currently serves as the Athletics Scheduling Coordinator, Women’s Golf Head Coach, and Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach at the college, shared insights into her journey and experiences at WLC.

Reflecting on her decision to attend WLC, Langebartels expressed, "When I visited Wisconsin Lutheran College, the Christian, caring environment and the kindness of everyone on campus was so unique compared to what I had experienced that I knew WLC was the right college for me."

A standout moment during her time at WLC was winning the conference championship in basketball during her senior season and qualifying for the NCAA Tournament. Langebartels also highlighted the impact of Dean/Coach Paul Knueppel, stating, "He not only pushed me outside my comfort zone in the office by having me lead Intramurals, but he also taught me so many life lessons through his individual meetings and office story time."

Post-graduation, Langebartels has achieved significant milestones, including building a successful career in the housing industry, coaching her children in sports, and traveling extensively throughout North America. Looking ahead, she shared her new bucket list item, saying, "I held an NCAA free throw record for more than 20 years, and it was just broken in January 2024. My new bucket list item is that one of my kids re-sets the record to get it back into the family."

Julie Langebartels' dedication to her profession, commitment to family values, and continuous pursuit of personal goals exemplify the spirit of excellence and ambition instilled by her alma mater, Wisconsin Lutheran College.
