The fourth annual 414 for UWM Giving Days proved to be a tremendous success, raising a record-breaking $1,378,824 from 2,001 donors. According to Joan Nesbitt, vice chancellor of University Advancement, this year's total was nearly four times the amount raised during UWM's first giving day in 2021.

Nesbitt also highlighted the significant participation of graduating seniors, noting that more than 60 students came together to make a senior class gift for the first time. These students will be recognized for their generosity at the commencement ceremony in May by wearing a "fountain mist" teal cord, representing the color of the famous UWM fountain.

The fundraising effort was supported by ambassadors, including alumni, friends, and employees, who inspired 285 donors to contribute a total of $38,181. Among the ambassadors, Julie Frey '87 and Matt Mahoney '10, '18 stood out for their exceptional efforts in encouraging donors to give.

Lead donors played a crucial role in the success of the event by contributing 52 challenges and matches to encourage support for specific areas of UWM. These supporters raised over $97,000 and inspired more than 650 donors to make contributions during the Giving Days.

The challenges and matches were sponsored by a list of alumni and friends, including David C. Bogenschild '59, Tony and Vicki Cecalupo, and many others who showed their commitment to supporting UWM's initiatives.

Overall, the community's generous contributions during the 414 for UWM Giving Days will have a significant impact on various areas across the university, demonstrating the collective support and dedication towards advancing UWM's mission.
