Just how big of a Milwaukee Brewers fan is Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers?

In addition to rooting for the Brew Crew since childhood, Evers has an extensive bobblehead collection to show for his fandom.

“It’s always a good day when I get to share my bobblehead collection,” the governor tweeted on Oct. 18.

Evers told Spectrum News that his collection reflects the evolution of the team, which has one American League pennant and five division titles to its name.

“It just shows how the team has evolved over time,” he said. “It just gives you the flavor or flow of baseball.”

Evers recalled how growing up, his mother would stay up late just to take down the final score of the Brewers game and leave him a note with the result – good or bad – for when he woke up in the morning.

The governor has one special bobblehead among his collection: a Hank Aaron one.

Aaron, who once called Milwaukee home as a member of the Braves (before they moved to Atlanta) and the Brewers, was the epitome of a good athlete, according to Evers.

“I can remember back in 1957 when the Braves won the World Series, and I would say that's probably my favorite and, obviously, he's a player that kind of epitomizes what it is to be a professional athlete,” he told Spectrum News.

Evers doesn’t expect to stop adding to his collection, with a few more collectibles joining the bunch after the Brewers’ 2021 season in which the team clinched the National League Central title for the first time since 2018.
